i love sandwiches, I like to serve it for lunch along with a hot Cheese & Broccoli soup. I saw this recipe on Taste at Home magazine and I made my very own version instead of regular Turkey deli meat, I used Turkey Pastrami. Buy the cheese and sandwich meat at the deli in your local grocer, it taste better and fresher unlike those pre-packed ones. Use whatever kind of cheese and deli meats you like.
Ingredients:
2 tbsp. olive oil
1 tbsp. oregano
3 tbsp. pesto
4 garlic cloves, minced
2 french bread dough
1 small red onion sliced in rings or lengthwise
shredded lettuce
1 small green bell pepper, sliced into lengthwise
1 medium tomato, sliced
Sliced cheese , I used Swiss
Your choice of deli meats, I used Turkey Pastrami, Honey Baked Ham and Roast Beef
Procedure:
1. In a small bowl, mix olive oil, garlic and oregano. Take dough out of tubes, arrange and form into circle, pinching ends together . Make shallow knife marks across top and brush dough with the oil mixture. Bake for 25-30 minutes.
2.Take out, and slice in half right away, you will have a top and a bottom half. Place on cheese, pastrami, onion, ham, tomato, roast beef, lettuce and bell pepper. Squirt a little ...
